General Enhancements

• More Engines!  Support for over 70 new search engines has been added to the Reporter and when applicable, to the Generator, Submitter, Page Critic and Traffic Analyzer. This brings WebPosition's total to more than 90 engines at the time of this writing.  We continue to focus only on the largest and most popular engines avoiding those that are too small to be worth your time to optimizating for.
  
  WebPosition's engine support is no longer limited to the U.S based engines. Version 2.0 introduces support for major search engines and directories in over a dozen other regions such as Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Spain, Mexico, Latin America, Russia, Italy, China, Japan, Scandinavia and the Netherlands. Whether you were looking for more global search engines, or wishing to promote to audiences in other countries, version 2.0 will help expand your reach. More visibility means more traffic to your Web site.
  
  
• Easier Engine Management: Every module allows better selection of engines by their type or importance. You can even flag select engines and make your own custom "Preferred" lists, thus saving you valuable time.
  
  
• Vital Statistics: Selecting an engine now displays vital statistics such as its domain name, link popularity, engine type and other useful information regarding the engine.
  
  
• Better Help: The help file has been greatly improved and expanded. There's now more hyperlinks, more definition of terms, more articles, and more help to move you on your way to achieving more top 10 rankings.
  
  
• Better File Management:  You can now define a default mission directory to make file management easier.
  
  
• Faster Downloads:  Config file updates are now compressed, significantly reducing download times even though the size of the knowledge bases have been greatly expanded.
  
  
• Powerful Multi-tasking: You may now run more than one instance of Web Position Gold Platinum at the same time. You'll never have a scheduled mission conflict with another since they can both run at the same time.  You can even work in the Page Critic or other parts of the program while another mission is running in the background.

• Reduced Disk Space: You may now conserve disk space by checking an option to delete the actual downloaded pages after the reports are generated. This will dramatically cut the amount of disk space needed compared to previous versions of Web Position Gold Platinum.
  
  
• Advanced Browser Emulation:  An option to slow searches to be more courteous to the search engines has been added. If you've ever worried whether searching too quickly could at some point get you red-flagged by an engine, you can optionally use this feature to guarantee a lower-profile.
  
  
• Auto-Email Reports:  Once the reports are generated, WebPosition can now automatically e-mail them to anyone, such as your client or your manager.
  
  
• Auto-Upload Reports:  It can also automatically upload the reports to your Web site (or your client's site) without you lifting a finger!
  
  
• Filter Non-Ranking Keywords: When the Concise report is e-mailed or uploaded, you can optionally have any keywords that did not rank in the Top X matches automatically removed from the report. This allows you to look at the "big picture" for continued improvement. You can thereby focus only on the positive rankings when you send the report to your client or to your manager by automatically stripping out the non-ranking keywords!
   
• Auto-Import Keywords:  To save time you can now press a button to automatically import keywords into the Reporter from your Web site.
  
  
• New Visibility Report:   Located at the top of the Concise Report, the Visibility report summarizes your visibility on the search engines by giving you many powerful new statistics. For example, you can know at a glance how many total first place rankings you've achieved. It also reports your total rankings appearing in the top 5, top 10, top 20, and top 30 matches.
  
  
• Better Rank Tracking:  Also included on the Visibility report are the number of rankings that moved up, the number of rankings that moved down, and the number that stayed the same. An over-all visibility score and visibility percentage are computed to let you quickly know exactly how visible your site is on the Web at a glance. Never again will you have to guess whether you're making progress in your campaign, or waste time computing these numbers by hand.
  
  
• Greater Report Customization:  Reports can be customized to a much greater degree than previous versions. For example, you can customize the colors of the reports and create custom report header and footer layouts using HTML templates. This can give your reports a much more professional appearance that matches your corporate look.  (Pro Version only)

• Enhanced Meta Tag Control:  A new Meta Tags tab has been added to the Page Generator so you can preview and optionally change the meta tags that are going to be generated.
  
  
• Improved Help:  A complete explanation of meta tags, their effectiveness, and other common page creation questions have been fully addressed in the Page Generator help file. Other topics have been added such as how to create outstanding content for your Web site while still achieving top rankings.
  
  
• Anti-Spam Benefits:   New help and assistance has been added to discourage spamming while helping you build search engine friendly pages.
  
  
• Smarter Page Generation:  The Page Generator is now "smarter" than ever, generating meta tags that more closely adhere to the detailed advice in the Page Critic. Therefore, if a meta tag should not exceed a certain length or should not have more than a certain number of keyword repetitions, the Generator knows this and outputs the tag accordingly. This can save you valuable time.
  
  
• Easier Engine Management:  You can now filter the engines in the Generator so that only the engines that need generated pages are displayed. Therefore, you can more quickly target only the engines which are applicable to the Generator.
  
  
• Auto-Import Keywords:  To save time you can now press a button to automatically import keywords into the Page Generator from your Web site.

• Expanded Advice:  Newly expanded advice gives you a serious leg up on your competition. You'll find detailed advice for achieving top rankings in over 85 engines.  With literally thousands of proven tips in its database, you'll not find this much rank improvement help for so many engines in any other product in the world!
  
  
• Enhanced Link Popularity Support:  The Page Critic now computes your link popularity so you always know your current popularity score. Detailed advice is then given on how you can improve your score.
  
  
• Smoother Interface:  The user interface has been streamlined. For example, you can now tell the Critic to save the mission or the Web page automatically without prompting. In addition, you can suppress the partial matching prompt from popping up every time you change engines.
  
  
• Improved Accuracy:  The Page Critic analyzes the content of top ranking pages making it a powerful research tool. However, what if the page has changed since the search engine indexed it? Although there is no foolproof way to always know for sure, a new feature in the Critic will try to detect page changes through some advanced techniques. If it finds the page has changed since it was last indexed, it can exclude it from your analysis of the top ranking pages. This can greatly improve the accuracy of the statistical advice!

• Built-in FTP Support:   You no longer have to load a third-party FTP program to upload your files! (Although you still can if you wish). WebPosition can now be scheduled to upload files to your Web site automatically after generating reports.
  
  
• New Report Processing Options:  You can now have the Upload Manager strip out any non-rankings keywords from your Concise reports. This way you can run a mission to view all the rankings, both good and bad. You can then upload a Concise report that includes only the keywords that had a ranking for review by management or a client.  (Pro Version Only)

• More Engines:  The submitter now submits to more than five times more search engines.
  
  
• Better Multi-Domain Support:  You can now submit to URLs from multiple domains in the same mission. Previous versions required you to create separate missions for each domain you wished to submit.
  
  
• Easy URL Importing:  You can now easily import lists of URLs from a text file or from the clipboard that you wish to submit rather than entering them one by one.
  
  
• Built-in Spider for Quickly Gathering URLs:  The new Import option can also spider a Web site and create a list of all the URLs on a Web site even if the files do not exist on your hard drive. This makes submitting an entire Web site, even a client's Web site, a snap.  You can restrict it to spider only a designated number of levels deep.
  
  
• Customize Submission Limits:  You can now easily define your own submission limits per engine. For example, if you feel a submission limit of one URL or five URLs per day is too conservative for an engine, you can change it.
  
  
• Full Submission Verification:  You can now view the actual page returned after each submission to manually verify that a submission was successful if desired.
  
  
• Complete Submission History:  New archive options let you archive submission reports for the past X number of days. If you want to review the entire submission history for a Web site, you can!
  
  
• Easier Directory Submissions:  A Submission Assistant helps you prepare your manual submissions to important directories such as Yahoo, Looksmart and others. It will count keywords, notify you of character limits, and more. You can also record the last submission date of your manual submissions so that they will appear on a consolidated report with any automated submissions you have done.
  
  
• Auto-Import Keywords:  To save time you can now press a button to automatically import keywords, descriptions, and titles into the Submitter from your Web site.
  
  
• Expanded Submission Interface:  Engines that require extended information to submit to them such as a street address, category selection, etc. are now fully supported through a flexible, powerful new interface.
  
  
• Add Custom Engines to the Submitter Assistant:  You can easily add an unlimited number of custom engines to the new Submission Assistant. If you submit to any engine or directory outside of WebPosition, you can now keep track of everything in one central location!
  
  
• Advanced Browser Emulation:  A new user-defined "slow submit" feature slows WebPosition's submissions down so that submissions are made at randomly delayed intervals. WebPosition has always emulated the way a submission would occur if you did it manually in your browser. The only exception has been that WebPosition submits faster than a normal human being. Some people have been concerned that a search engine might scrutinize or ignore submissions done too quickly. Past versions allowed you to submit one URL a day to avoid this possibility. However, Version 2.0 now gives you the option to submit multiple URLs per day while optionally introducing a random delay between each submission. Submit safely without any worries!

• Expanded Engine Support:  The Traffic Analyzer now tracks and separates out traffic coming from all the new search engines supported by WebPosition. For example, find out how many visitors find your site from AltaVista United Kingdom versus the U.S. AltaVista.
  
  
• Continued Support for 1.60 Benefits:  In addition, all the dozens of new Traffic Analyzer Benefits introduced in Web Position Gold Platinum 1.60 are also included in Web Position Gold Platinum 2.

• Easier Interface:  The scheduler includes a new, easier to use tabbed "wizard" style interface that is consistent with the rest of Web Position Gold Platinum.
  
  
• System Tray Support: The scheduler now runs conveniently as an icon in your system tray. You can right click on the icon to bring up scheduling options.
  
  
• New Report Log:  All scheduled events are now recorded in a log file showing at a glance which missions completed successfully and which did not.
  
  
• Scheduled Uploads Supported:  In addition to scheduling Reporter and Submitter missions, you can now schedule Upload Manager missions to execute at specified times.  Automate the uploading of any files, anywhere, at anytime.
  
  
• More Flexibility:   You can now schedule missions to run at a wide variety of new time intervals.  For example, you can now schedule a mission to run on the "Last Friday" of the month, or the "Second Tuesday" of the month.
  
  
• Easier Submission Handling:  Since many search engines have limits to how many submissions you can make within a single day, you may have to run a mission many times to submit all the URLs in your mission. The previous scheduler was limited in its ability to submit all URLs only once a month while still submitting daily until all URLs were submitted. This new version lets you more easily submit on a defined interval while intelligently submitting daily until all URLs are completed.
  
  
• Handy Pop Up Calendar:   Save time with the new pop up calendar that lets you easily select scheduled dates.
  
  
• Quickly Test Your Scheduled Events:  A convenient "Run Now" button has been added so you can immediately run any events you have scheduled.

• No Worries Upgrade:  You can run all your existing missions in Web Position Gold Platinum 2.  In fact, you can continue to run WebPosition Analyzer or Web Position Gold Platinum 1.x on the same machine, and even in the same directory while you try out Web Position Gold Platinum 2's new Benefits.  Then uninstall either product once you've made your decision.  This is our completely "risk-free" way to introduce you to this great new upgrade.
